If any thought, feeling, sensation or perception were identical to our essential nature of pure knowing, then every time a thought, feeling, sensation or perception disappeared we would feel that a little bit of ourself disappeared with it. Indeed, if thought, sensation or perception were inherent to the essential nature of mind or pure knowing, it would not be possible for a thought, sensation or perception to appear, because what is essential to mind must always and already be present within it and as it. Therefore, the essential nature of mind does not appear or disappear; it has no beginning or end. It was not born and will not die.
