One of the ways that mindfulness dissolves a certain amount of dukkha is by fabricating less, in general, than the mind usually might. The mind of papañca – of stories, abstractions, and images – fabricates the sense of self, and also dukkha and experience, in line with, and to the extent of, this papañca; and just to the extent that moments of mindfulness avoid, cut, or undermine papañca, there is then less fabrication. It is crucial to see and appreciate this for ourselves.
